MACA has an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Drill & Blast Area Manager to join our team on 4 days on 3 days off roster from Perth.

The role of the Drill and Blast Area Manager is to oversee and support the drill and blast operations across their projects and lead continuous improvement activities and provide technical support to improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Assist D&B Superintendents / Supervisors with the planning and coordination of drill and blast operations across their sites.
  • Assist D&B Superintendents / Supervisors with the drill and blast contracts, budgets and consumables for their projects.
  • Provide technical advice / expertise on drill and blast operations.
  • Assist the Drill and Blast Manager and Maintenance Manager in the preparation of budgets.
  • Assist site management in preparing accurate drill and blast schedules and organising resources.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of MACA work practices.
  • Ensure employees and contractors understand and comply with Health Safety and Environmental working procedures.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports in a timely manner as requested.  

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Have a minimum of 15 years Drill & Blast industry experience with a minimum of 5 years leadership experience.
  • Thorough understanding of all relevant regulations.
  • Strong contractual understanding and application.
  • Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge and theory across best drilling and blasting practices.
  • Experience leading high performing teams.
  • Proven ability to drive sound commercial outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with people at all levels.
  • A commitment to safety and progressive learning in the workplace.
