MACA is on the hunt for a Drill & Blast Superintendent to join our mining business on a permanent, full-time basis, working an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Drill & Blast Superintendent is responsible for leading and mentoring Supervisors, providing technical advice and expertise, prepare and execute accurate drill and blast schedules and organising resources.

Key responsibilities:
- Track drill and blast performance (through supervisors and leading hands), and ensure operational issues are managed and communicated in a timely manner
- Provide and maintain skills and competencies for all personnel within drill and blast team
- Manage the drill and blast operations within the project in accordance with the Company’s management standards, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare and monitor drill and blast budgets and track expenditure
- Ensure work is being performed in accordance with the contract
- Prepare drill and blast schedules for areas of responsibility and assign and communicate priorities
- Liaise with Engineers in developing daily, weekly, and monthly plans to optimise drill and blast production levels
- Liaise with other Superintendents to ensure plant availability needed to optimise drill and blast production levels
- Provide visible leadership in driving positive health and safety behaviours consistent with MACA HSEQ policies, procedures, and standards
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 10 years Drill and Blast experience with 5 years in leadership roles
- Experience leading high performing teams
- Proven ability to drive sound commercial outcomes
- Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills and safety behaviour
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
- Strong organisational, communication and planning skills
- Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with people at all levels
- Experience and skills in people management and development
