The Role & Project:

 

As a proud Thiess company, MACA will provide specialist civil construction services at a greenfield copper mine in North West Queensland, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People.

 

MACA is seeking a Civil Project Supervisor to join our team working on this exciting new project on a 2:1 roster.

 

Locals in North West Queensland, including Members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations people, are highly encouraged to apply for this role on a BIBO basis. Depending on the successful candidate and the candidate's location, the role can also be offered on a FIFO roster from either Townsville or Brisbane with accommodation on site.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Direct the daily activities of the workforce.
  • Ensure that all work activities are conducted and completed strictly in accordance with contract/project OH&S Management Plans, statutory OH&S rules, regulations, and requirements and to industry and QA standards as determined by specifications, standards, and statutory requirements.
  • A distinct understanding of managing procurement, plant, equipment and resources.
  • Ensure personnel within their area of responsibility and control are capable, trained, and qualified to undertake the tasks they are engaged to complete. Where gaps in employee capability or experience exists when engaged to undertake a task, the Supervisor will ensure appropriate training or removal of the employee is undertaken before being engaged to complete a task or work activity.
  • Ensure prior to the commencement of any task (and reviewed daily for prolonged tasks) a risk review in the form of a JSA will be conducted by the work team under their immediate control.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar role.
  • Sound knowledge of plant and equipment best practice and operational performance to meet production targets in a safe and efficient manner.
  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to plan and schedule activities and resources
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence.
  • White Card.
  • National Police Clearance.
