The Role & Project:
As a proud Thiess company, MACA will provide specialist civil construction services at a greenfield copper mine in North West Queensland, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People.
MACA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team working on this exciting new project working an 8/6 roster.
Locals in North West Queensland, including Members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations people, are highly encouraged to apply for this role on a BIBO basis. Depending on the successful candidate and the candidate's location, the role can also be offered on a FIFO roster from either Townsville or Brisbane with accommodation on site.

Responsibilities:
- Daily supervision of site workshop personnel ensuring all tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify areas of improvement and provide coaching and development strategies for staff.
- Ensure all workshop jobs and projects are completed within budget and in a timely manner.
- Initiate and lead investigations of equipment failures to determine root cause.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of plant and equipment to limit down time.
- Plan, prioritise and execute unscheduled work resulting from breakdown or backlog.
- Ensure that monitoring tools such as KPIs and other standard measures are utilised to improve maintenance processes.
- Monitor and report actual work completion against scheduled plan.
- Monitor parts and equipment requirements for the workshop.
- Authorise all workshop personnel timesheets ensuring correct hours.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- 5+ years’ experience in a Maintenance/Workshop Supervisor role in the mining/civil construction sector.
- Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter/Mechanic).
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
- White Card.
- National Police Clearance.
- Experience leading high performing teams.
- Excellent organisation and planning skills.
- Intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office suite.
