The Role & Project

 

MACA is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our team based in our West Perth corporate office.  

In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely collation, analysis and presentation of financial results across a portfolio of projects within the MACA Mining business. You will play a key role in ensuring month end reporting is completed within agreed timeframes, while providing high quality financial insights to support operational and strategic decision making.

Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Assist in preparation, review and submission of monthly project progress claims.
  • Ensure monthly billings are invoiced in a timely manner.
  • Complete EOM reviews with Project Managers prior to EOM cutoff.
  • Provide support to commercial team in relation to disputes, debtor collection, internal / external reporting and other ad hoc requests.
  • Ensure monthly results are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with the timely preparation and collation of project forecasts.
  • Complete balance sheet reviews via Blackline and identify improvements in workpapers.
  • Assist and review variance analysis commentary for project P&L and balance sheets accounts comparing actuals to budget and forecast.
  • Maintain internal controls, including reconciliations, workpapers and general ledger journal entries.
  • Assist with statutory accounts queries as required.
  • Provide support with external audit as required.
  • Prepare and process journal entries as required.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Certified Practising Accountant or Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent professional knowledge gained through significant experience working in a similar role within the Mining Industry.
  • Minimum of 5 + years accounting experience.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • ERP systems experience with JDE highly desirable.
  • Effective organisation and planning skills.
  • Pragmatic and solution oriented.
