The Role & Project

 

MACA is on the hunt for a HSEQT Superintendent to join our mining business at Gruyere Gold project on an 4/3 roster, FIFO from Perth. This role will provide a high level of support to the Project Manager and site-based team with the Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training technical support to help achieve project compliance to HSEQT systems and processes.

 

The Gruyere Gold Project is located within the Yamarna greenstone belt approximately 200 kilometres east of Laverton in Western Australia.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Take a leadership role in implementing, reviewing, and complying with the HSEQT Management Plan and other project required management plans.
  • Provide leadership for a team of capable HSEQ Advisors and Trainer / Assessors assisting with their support of the project team.
  • Identify, prioritise, and implement HSEQ strategies that align with both the project strategies and corporate HSEQ strategies.
  • Ensure all compliance and reporting requirements are met as per internal and external expectations.
  • Monitor the quality of HSEQ risk assessments, event investigation, and field leadership, encouraging a strong culture of learning and embedment of safety improvements.
  • Assist with development of the project training need analysis
  • Work collaboratively with the Client to ensure all Client expectations are met in the required timeframes.
  • Ensuring incident reporting timeframes and processes are followed in accordance with internal and client requirements.
  • Leading or participating in internal and client audits.
  • Undertaking and assisting with the coaching and mentoring of the HSEQT Team and project management team.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
 

  • Possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar HSEQT role.
  • Previous site based mining experience preferably in an Open Cut Mining environment.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Health and Safety related discipline.
  • Hold a current driver’s licence.
  • Possess Investigation and Auditing qualifications.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with people at all levels.
  • Effective organisation and planning skills.
