MACA has an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Mining Manager located at Gruyere Gold Mine on 8 days on 6 days off roster from Perth.

The Mining Manager will assist the Project Manager in being accountable for the overall management of the project in accordance with the contract and ensuring adherence to MACA’s vision, values, policies and procedures. You will provide the project team with effective leadership, planning and resources to achieve HSEQ, safe systems of work, quality, performance, financial and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and demonstrate behaviours consistent with MACA HSEQ policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
- Responsible for the overall management of mining projects.
- Determine, implement and monitor production strategies, policies and plans to drive operational efficiencies.
- Ensure that the requirements for effective HSE management and compliance are clearly communicated and understood by direct reports and all personnel operating in the Mine.
- Ensure all management plans and procedures are current and available to Workers.
- Understand the commercial impact of project decisions. Work within financial budget or forecast parameters.
- Ensure workers have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and competencies in accordance with the Project training needs analysis.
- Promote a culture of continual improvement throughout the project team.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
- Promote a diverse workplace through recruitment, training and career advancement opportunities.
- Have a full understanding of the scope of work and terms and conditions of the contract.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Mining Engineering qualifications or equivalent experience in the role.
- Minimum of 10 years’ senior leadership experience in the supervision and management of mining personnel in an open pit mining environment.
- Hold and unrestricted WA Quarry Manager certificate of competency.
- Demonstrated safety leadership skills and behaviours.
- Effective people management and development experience.
- Sound knowledge of safe mining practices.
- Management of budgets, understanding of profit/loss, budgets and cost reports
- Adaptability to changing operational situations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across the team and departments.
