MACA is inviting expressions of interest for a Senior Drill & Blast Supervisor to join our mining business, working an 8/6, 7/7 FIFO roster from Perth.

Reporting to the Drill & Blast Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating the drill and blast crew to achieve targets efficiently and on schedule, while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate drill and blast crews, ensuring effective utilisation of personnel and equipment, clear communication of requirements, and competency in assigned tasks.
  • Oversee safe and compliant operations by enforcing HSE procedures, conducting blast notifications and clearances, and ensuring correct transport, storage, and handling of explosives.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and training to personnel while monitoring shift performance and taking action to meet drill and blast production targets.
  • Report deviations from plans, complete required documentation, and conduct incident or accident investigations as necessary.
  • Liaise with maintenance teams to plan and support scheduled servicing, and perform inspections and audits of magazines and related facilities.
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships and uphold organisational values, safety programs, and “zero harm” commitments.

 

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in mining supervision, with strong people-leadership capability and the ability to manage diverse operational teams.
  • Proven background as a Drill & Blast Supervisor, including mentoring and developing crew members while consistently driving safe and efficient performance outcomes.
  • A strong track record of promoting, supporting, and maintaining a robust safety culture across all drill and blast activities.
  • Broad experience in open-pit mining operations, with exposure to commodities such as Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium, or Iron Ore considered highly advantageous.
  • Holding an SR26 or Section 44 statutory ticket is highly desirable and viewed as a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building across teams, contractors, and other site departments.
