The Role & Project

 

MACA is on the hunt for a Senior Mining Leader to join our mining business at McPhee Creek Iron Ore Project, working an 8/6 roster, FIFO from Perth. Recruitment for this project is scheduled to commence in Q4 of 2024.

 

The McPhee Creek Iron Ore Project is located 30km north of Nullagine in the north-east Pilbara region of WA. The three-year project scope includes mine load and haul of up to 10 million tonnes per annum, before being transported to Roy Hill for processing.

 

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Alternate Project Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient site operations, whilst satisfying the client's requirements as per the contract. You will plan, lead and monitor your teams to achieve production targets whilst ensuring adherence to MACA's standards, policies and procedures in with our core values.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • Minimum of 7 years production supervisory experience in an open pit mining environment.
  • Proven experience in effective management and administration of the project.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial management and strong planning skills.
  • Commitment, respect, and compliance to the MACA safety, health and environmental policies.
  • The ability to build key stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven contract mining experience.
  • Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency.
  • The ability to monitor overall performance to ensure targets are met and take appropriate action to maintain targets.
  • Proven experience in providing accurate, timely and effective progress reports.
