MACA is on the hunt for a Mining Supervisor to join our team at the McPhee Creek Iron Ore Project on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.

 

The McPhee Creek Iron Ore Project is located 30km north of Nullagine in the north-east Pilbara region of WA. The three-year project scope includes mine load and haul of up to 10 million tonnes per annum, before being transported to Roy Hill for processing.

 

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Mining Supervisor is responsible for leading and mentoring a crew of Production Operators to ensure safe and efficient mining operations.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure that all work activities are conducted in accordance with contract/project management plans and statutory requirements.
  • A distinct understanding of managing plant, equipment and resources.
  • Ensure that all technical, engineering and specified aspects of the work activity are complete prior to commencement of works.
  • Support day to day activities, providing direction to production crews, ensuring effective shift handovers, prestart and toolbox meetings.
  • Identify areas for improvement, assess training requirements and provide coaching and development opportunities for staff.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • A demonstrated track record of fostering safety in the workplace.
  • Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, leading and mentoring teams effectively to drive production performance outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in open pit mining within a Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium or Iron ore background highly regarded.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across the team and departments.
  • Working knowledge of the Regulation/Legislation.
