MACA has an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Drill Maintenance Manager to join our team located in Welshpool.
The Drill Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the maintenance of drills under the control of the company is managed in a safe, efficient and professional manner. This includes supporting project teams to satisfy the client’s requirements and meeting statutory obligations for health, safety and the environment whilst meeting maintenance and production targets. This role will have regular site travel.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of maintenance processes and procedures required for safe execution of major maintenance activities across multiple sites.
- Regularly review maintenance procedures to ensure tasks are completed accurately and correctly.
- Implement control of Maintenance work methods, plant utilisation, labour and processes to ensure profitability and production targets are met.
- Allocation of personnel and equipment resources to ensure timely completion of set tasks.
- Liaise with Plant Operations Managers, Area Maintenance Managers, Project Managers and Supervisors to ensure identified tasks and priorities are met.
- Liaising with production to co-ordinate planned shutdowns, ensuring plant is repaired to a safe level, reviewing work practices, and managing maintenance costs.
- Develop, review and monitor progress with maintenance related activities in line with the operating business plan.
- Any other duties as directed by the Drill & Blast Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Mechanical Engineering qualifications or trade qualifications.
- Minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience in the supervision and management of maintenance personnel in an open pit mining environment.
- Proven experience in ensuring our plant and equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive and reliable standard in a timely manner.
- Project Management experience.
- Sound knowledge of safe mining practices.
- Ability to organise and prioritise maintenance demands.
- Adaptability to changing operational situations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across the team and departments.
