MACA has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager specialising in Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) projects in the mining industry.

This role will oversee multiple NPI projects across our mining business throughout Western Australia. Our NPI team support MACA executed projects as well as stand-alone projects for our clients. This is a Perth based role with some site travel expected for reviewing and assisting projects and tenders.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Ability to support site team of Engineers and Supervisors in control of all labour and plant resources, in order to achieve construction schedule.
  • Review and plan work with the site team to ensure technical components of projects are clear and provide support for queries.
  • Familiar with design and construct contracts and ability to develop scope of work documentation.
  • Manage project expenditure within the agreed project budget.
  • Review and update project schedules, as required and develop procurement registers to ensure lead times are met.
  • Extensive experience in engineering and construction of heavy vehicle workshops, concrete structures, fuel farms, wash facilities, office complexes, explosives facilities and fit-out/service reticulation and connections.
  • Interface with in-house designer/planner and external designers/suppliers as required for tenders and project execution.
  • Ensure all risks associated with Health, Safety and Environment are identified and adequate controls are implemented to eliminate or to reduce the severity of risk.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil construction with experience working on Non-Process Infrastructure projects required.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering required.
  • Demonstrated experience in client relations, subcontractor management and project management.
  • Experience in leading teams, developing sound business relations with clients, ensuring strong safety culture.
  • A distinct understanding of tendering processes and associated financial concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple NPI projects simultaneously.
