MACA are seeking a Finance Analyst to provide financial and commercial insight to the Aust West Assets/Finance teams, with a strong focus on asset accounting, month-end processes, and accurate, timely management reporting.

Key result areas include:

 

  • Manage asset lifecycle activities including additions, disposals, acquisitions, and related entries in the General Ledger and Fixed Asset Ledger.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly depreciation, capital additions, disposal schedules, and cost accounting reports.
  • Support month-end close by preparing accrual workpapers (e.g., maintenance wages, subcontract labour) and asset-related reconciliations.
  • Assist with variance analysis, capital R&M true-ups, and commentary for plant and maintenance results.
  • Contribute to mid-year forecasts, annual budgets, and prepare data uploads for Power BI reporting
  • Provide audit support for the assets stream and ensure compliance with financial controls.
  • Partner with operational teams to drive cost improvements, manage intercompany asset transactions, and support systems and ad hoc financial tasks.
  • Demonstrate accuracy, accountability, adaptability, professionalism, and commitment to continuous development.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline, supported by a minimum of 3+ years’ accounting experience (fixed assets experience highly regarded).
  • Proven experience providing finance and business partnering support within complex asset-intensive, maintenance, heavy industrial, mining, or resources environments (contract mining experience advantageous).
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, with experience in JDE highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated capability in financial analysis, reporting, and supporting operational stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
