The Role:
MACA is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in a permanent position, based in the West Perth corporate office.
The Financial Accountant is responsible for presenting the financial information with a high level of accuracy whilst meeting the tight month-end financial reporting timelines and complying with statutory obligations. You will be a key member of a close-knit team and directly contribute to the effectiveness of our project delivery and success. Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the timely finalisation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts for internal use and external audit purposes.
- Perform reconciliation for key balance sheet accounts such as bank, PPE (incl. ROUA), lease liabilities, leave provisions, etc.
- Monitor lease and loan repayments and other treasury duties.
- Perform reconciliation for Credit card transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of FBT.
- Monthly allocation of insurance and depreciation to the respective projects.
- Lodgement of monthly and yearly WA payroll tax.
- Preparation of monthly PPE (incl ROUA) movements.
- Monthly payroll reconciliation
- Wages accrual for month-end
- Liaising with external auditors during HY review and Year-End audit.
- General accounts administration and ad hoc queries.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Completed CPA/CA programs or in progress.
- Experience in mining industry.
- 3 years + in accountant role.
- Intermediate level excel skills.
- Experience in using Pronto and JDE.
- Audit background - 3 years + in mid-tier or big 4.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills.
