As the Financial Reporting & Compliance Manager, based in West Perth, you will be responsible for leading financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, audit coordination, and governance functions. Operating within a dynamic mining contracting environment, this role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information while maintaining compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation legislation, corporate regulations, and internal policies.

 

The role partners closely with operational leaders, project managers, commercial teams, executive management, and external stakeholders to support informed decision-making, risk management, and sustainable business growth.

Key result areas include:

 

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee corporate accounting activities including consolidations, financial governance, and policy development.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and corporate reporting obligations across the business.
  • Manage external audits, governance frameworks, and relationships with key regulatory and advisory stakeholders.
  • Oversee all taxation compliance activities, including Income Tax, GST/BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, Fuel Tax Credits, and Withholding Tax.
  • Identify and manage tax risks while ensuring legislative compliance and effective tax planning outcomes.
  • Manage the Group's cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and funding requirements to support operational performance.
  • Deliver accurate cash flow forecasting, treasury reporting, and financial insights to support business decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls, governance processes, and compliance frameworks.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing financial reporting and compliance team.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting tools, and compliance processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in financial reporting, compliance, or corporate accounting roles.
  • Previous leadership experience within a finance function.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation legislation.
  • Experience managing external audits and statutory reporting requirements.

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience within mining, mining services, contracting, construction, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Experience with multi-entity reporting environments.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Pronto and JDE.
