MACA & Thiess Australia West are seeking an experience HSEQ Advisor to support our Technology teams in developing and implementing advanced technology platforms and governance systems across our Western Australia Operations.

This role will play a key part in enhancing business and safety outcomes by supporting the Operational Technology and Asset Services teams with the delivery of innovative, market leading technologies.

We are seeking a skilled HSEQ Advisor who has previous experience or a keen interest in automation, in-vehicle monitoring, collision avoidance systems or safety and governance systems implementation to provide HSEQ support through the planning, development and implementation phase of each initiative.

This role is Monday to Friday, based in our West Perth Office with some ad-hoc site travel required.

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

 

Risk Assessment and Management

 

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Support the creation and review of risk management plans.

 

Document Development and Control

  • Draft, manage, and update HSEQ procedures and governance documents.
  • Ensure adherence with safety and quality standards.

 

Safety Inspections and Analysis

 

  • Perform on-site safety inspections to identify and address non-compliance issues.
  • Conduct safety analysis to improve existing processes and reduce potential risks.
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents and provide recommendations for future prevention.

 

Legislation and Standards Compliance

 

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant industry legislation and standards.
  • Review policies and processes in line with updated regulatory requirements.

 

Reporting and Communication

 

  • Compile and produce detailed safety reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to management regarding safety performance and improvements.

 

Safety Process Development

 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless integration of safety practices into operational workflows.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • Minimum of a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety qualifications (mandatory)
  • Sound understanding of risk framework and how to facilitate and review risk assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience in similar HSEQ roles, preferably within the resources industry.
  • Experience with autonomous fleet and/or mine fleet control systems (desirable)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A high level of initiative combined with strong decision-making abilities and a proactive attitude
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and possess mid to high-level skills with various software and platforms relevant to HSEQ operations.
