MACA requires an experienced Risk and Compliance Superintendent to join our Group Risk and HSEQ team located in our corporate office in Welshpool.

The Risk and Compliance Superintendent supports each business unit in maintaining the management system and assurance programs across MACA and Thiess West. This role provides ongoing support to Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental functions including management system standards, legislative compliance, accreditations and assurance program requirements.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Development of Australia West annual audit schedule.
  • Conduct onsite audits.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Australia West internal Management System, Our Safety Essentials and Mine Safety Management System audits.
  • Support and facilitate HSEQ performance improvement.
  • Develop, update and regular review of the Corporate and Project Risk Registers - Ensuring the Risk Register is reviewed with management and workers.
  • Quarterly / six (6) monthly audit of MACA Significant Incident actions.
  • Management of OFSC, and ISO certification audit regimes.
  • Manage Australia West legal registers and licenses.
  • Analyse data and produce statistical reports highlighting process improvements.
  • Follow up on audit actions ensuring project compliance.
  • Provide expertise in the review and dissemination of management system and assurance content as it relates to internal department and site requirements.
  • Oversee management system alignment with industry specific quality assurance requirements.
  • Monitor and support the close out and ongoing implementation of corrective actions.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the relevant industry sector.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
  • Lead Auditor qualifications.
  • Internal lead auditing experience.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of the applicable State WHS legislation.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
  • Capacity to engage constructively and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities to achieve high quality outcomes.
