Key responsibilities:

 

As a SMP Designer, you’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of complex mining and industrial projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing facility layouts, including conveyors, equipment, platework and supporting steel structure.
  • Producing 3D models and detailed engineering drawings from concept through to detail design and prepare models for DEM/FEA.
  • Providing technical input and design support to project teams.
  • Applying and promoting safe design practices across all design stages.
  • Reviewing drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Supporting project delivery by managing timelines, design efficiency, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal design systems and adopting new tools and techniques.
  • Assisting across Structural, Mechanical, Civil and Piping design work as needed.
  • Assist new work team with estimating and tender submission.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

We’re looking for a skilled and collaborative designer with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or production-related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a design, consultancy, or operational environment.
  • Proficiency in 3D design tools such as AutoCAD, ProSteel, Advance Steel, Navisworks, or similar.
  • Experience in crushing and screening plant design (highly regarded).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Leadership experience or the ability and interest to step into a lead role.
