The Role
MACA currently has an opening for an experienced Senior Category Specialist to work in our corporate team in Welshpool. Reporting to the Category Management Lead, working in a team of three, and with direct reports in the future. You will be supporting MACA’s operations that involve a large fleet of mining plant and equipment as well as other ancillary items, consumables, components and spares etc.
The focus of the role is to manage category strategies, in order to deliver sustained value. MACA has grown a lot in the last few years and there will be opportunities to have lasting impact on the business using your knowledge and skills in the industry to bring MACA closer to being the industry standard in the buying/purchasing function.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Category management and strategic sourcing experience in an Australian mining context
- Professional knowledge gained through significant experience working in a similar role (5 plus years).
- Knowledge of mining supply chain and associated spend categories.
- Knowledge and application of eProcurement technologies in large mining or energy businesses.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, category management and procurement.
- Expertise in the use of all Microsoft applications.
- Experience in using large scale ERP and business intelligence or reporting tools.
