MACA is seeking a Technical Specialist - Drills for a full-time permanent position based in Welshpool with regular site travel.

 

Reporting to the Assets Manager, you are responsible for ensuring availability and reliability of fleet is performing in accordance with tendered requirements. This specifically involves drill’s reliability and performance, requiring engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, internal support functions, and OEM’s.

 

This position is open to motivated individual with a strong work ethic. You will review the current performance and identify areas of opportunity that align with our maintenance management procedures, policies and values.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide technical support for sites and area maintenance managers.
  • Maintain regular site visits across MACA sites for drill inspections and involvement in machine shut down repairs.
  • Monitor maintenance, availability, reliability, and time to repair for MACA fleet.
  • Ensure regular drill audits and inspections are taking place and being completed in accordance with requirements outlined in the maintenance service and inspections.
  • Work closely with the appropriate area maintenance managers in providing reports and feedback with up-to-date findings and combined solutions for fleet.
  • Monitor and adjust as required critical spare part holdings on site and within MACA central inventory.
  • Contribute to planning and preventative maintenance scheduling, including component strip downs to assess component conditions.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of MACA work practices.
  • Engage with OEM’s and suppliers of equipment related products to drive a high level of service, support, and quality across the MACA fleet.

To be successful in this role, you will:

 

  • Minimum 10 years site-based drills experience in a maintenance mining environment.
  • Trade qualified.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong work ethic and motivation, enabling you to review current performance and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
  • High Risk Ticket.
  • Commitment to safety in the workplace
