MACA is seeking a Mining Superintendent to join our mining business on a permanent, full-time basis, working an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth to Beebyn W11.

 

The Beebyn-W11 iron ore mine, owned by Fenix Resources, is located 20km from the Iron Ridge operation in the Mid-West region and is expected to produce 1.5 Mtpa.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a production mining open pit environment.
  • Coordinate and maximise the effectiveness of personnel, equipment and resources.
  • Carry out statutory inspections relating to compliance & procedures.
  • Support day to day activities, providing direction to Production/D&B crews and Supervisors, ensuring effective shift handovers, prestart and toolbox meetings.
  • Plan and execute crew change overs to ensure that the alternating Production crews have the correct knowledge of possible incidents, safety and training issues or requirements and general site events and conditions, including changes to the mine plan.
  • Identify areas for improvement, assess training requirements and provide coaching and development opportunities for staff.
  • Lead and/or participate in incident investigations using ICAM methodology.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • Unrestricted Quarry Manager ticket.
  • A demonstrated track record of fostering safety in the workplace.
  • Proven experience as a Production Superintendent, leading and mentoring teams effectively to drive production performance outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in open pit mining within a Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium or Iron ore background highly regarded.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across the team and departments.
  • Working knowledge of the Regulation/Legislation.
  • Qualifications in Mining/Quarry/Engineering certificate desirable.
